Our Vision for this Role
The Benefits Coordinator administers and supports employee benefit and leave programs in compliance with applicable federal, state, and local regulations. This role serves as the primary subject matter expert and coordinator for leave of absence administration while also supporting broader benefits operations, employee inquiries, vendor coordination, and HR initiatives. The position requires exceptional attention to detail, strong customer service skills, sound judgment, and the ability to manage sensitive employee matters with professionalism and confidentiality.
What We Will Accomplish Together
Leave Administration & Employee Benefits Support
- Serve as the primary coordinator and subject matter expert for employee leave of absence programs, partnering with HR, payroll, managers, and third-party vendors to support effective administration: Family Medical Leave (FMLA), Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) accommodations and interactive process support, State and local paid leave programs, Parental leave, Short-term disability and long-term disability coordination.
- Track leave timelines, required certifications, recertifications, and return-to-work documentation to ensure timely and accurate processing.
- Ensure compliance with applicable federal, state, and local leave laws and company policy.
- Partner with other HR and benefits team members to cross-train and support leave administration processes as needed.
- Serve as a liaison between employees, managers, payroll, benefits vendors, and third-party administrators on leave status and requirements.
- Maintain accurate, confidential leave records in accordance with privacy standards.
Employee Support & HR Operations
- Provide timely, empathetic support to employees and managers on leave procedures, benefits, and company policies.
- Coordinate with field HR and third-party vendors on level one unemployment matters.
- Support internal and external audits related to benefits and leave administration.
- Assist with HR projects, reporting, policy updates, and process improvements as needed.
Benefits Administration
- Partner with management to support the administration of employee benefit programs, including medical, dental, vision, HSA/FSA, life insurance, disability, voluntary and retirement benefits.
- Respond to employee inquiries regarding benefits deductions, retirement contributions, eligibility, and general benefits questions administration.
- Support annual enrollment activities and related employee communications.
- Support employee onboarding and qualifying life event benefit changes
- Assist with benefits communication and education initiatives throughout the year
- Partner with payroll and HR teams to ensure accurate benefit deductions and eligibility administration
- Other administrative duties as assigned
What You Have
Required Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience in leave administration, HR, or benefits operations.
- Working knowledge of FMLA, ADA, state leave laws, and unemployment processes.
- Proficiency with HRIS systems (Workday experience a plus) and Microsoft Office.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience administering multi-state leave and FMLA programs.
- Experience with payroll and benefits integrations.

Work Environment & Physical Requirements
- Primarily office-based with one remote workday per week.
- Prolonged periods of sitting and computer use required.
- Occasional lifting of up to 15 pounds may be required.
