Our Vision for this Role
The HCM IT Manager will lead the implementation initiatives and continuous improvement of the HCM technology solutions. The position requires a strong technical background in Workday, project/program management, and an ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams to align applications with business needs. This will require the ability to manage employees while allowing the organization to achieve and maintain a stable HCM application suite. It is expected that this leader will help the organization maintain a modern platform which promotes technology agility and incorporates modern approaches within Workday. Identify opportunities for platform-as-a-service capabilities, and embedded AI in alignment with IT goals and business objectives. The HCM IT Manager will collaborate closely with other leaders in IT and business units to implement digital transformation initiatives, optimize application value, and ensure the security and compliance of the application landscape.
What We Will Accomplish Together
- Strategic leadership: Guide the HCM IT Team to implement the HCM ERP strategy to support the organization’s business goals and objectives.
- Team leadership and development: Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performance team of IT professionals. Translate organizational goals into meaningful goals for team members.
- Business engagement: Develop productive relationships with business leaders across the organization to influence how HCM ERP applications can enable new sources of value.
- Portfolio management: Oversee the management of the HCM ERP project portfolio, ensuring it meets current and future business requirements. Evaluate and prioritize objects based on strategic alignment, capacity, return on investment, and risk.
- Operational excellence: Safeguard the reliability, availability, and performance of the ERP system. Implement best practices for application life cycle management, including development, deployment, maintenance, support, and retirement of solutions.
- Risk management and compliance: Ensure all work embraces industry standards for cybersecurity, risk, compliance, and legal teams considering compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards.
- Budget management: Understand contractor spend within your purview to appropriately manage department cost.
What You Have
- You should have a minimum of 5 years’ experience in IT, with at least 3 years in a leadership role managing application teams or large projects.
- You should have a proven history of leading digital transformation initiatives and implementing large-scale IT projects.
- You should have a strong knowledge of ERP platforms, cloud computing, and related technologies. Workday experience strongly preferred. Ability to use strategic planning to translate business goals into technology solutions.
- You should have exceptional communication and people skills. Ability to collaborate with peers and project stakeholders across the organization, and to influence people to achieve common goals beneficial to the overall organization.
- You should have strong project management skills, including experience with waterfall and agile methodologies, including a strong understanding of how to effectively manage people, cost, and time.
- You should have the readiness to lead, inspire, and develop innovative teams. Ability to foster a culture of continuous improvement while demonstrating sound judgment and making timely, effective decisions.
- You should have high ethical standards and trustworthiness. Ability to act consistently with transparency and accountability.
- Finally, you should bring an excellent sense of humor to the table - we like to have FUN!
