Position Overview:

The Payroll Systems Analyst is responsible for supporting projects related to the analysis, design, and implementation of payroll and time systems and processes. This role ensures that payroll and time systems are set up in compliance with all regulations and collaborates with HR, Legal, and IT departments. The ideal candidate is a technology enthusiast with expertise in test scripting within both manual and automated frameworks, test analysis, execution, and reporting, aimed at enhancing test efficiency, cycle times, and coverage.

 

Key Responsibilities:

Technical Proficiency

  • Reporting and Data Integrity: Design custom ad hoc reports, resolve queries, ensure accuracy, and maintain the integrity of Payroll and Time systems.
  • System Configuration and Issue Resolution: Design and maintain codes and tables, prepare Payroll reports, analyze system configurations, and escalate issues to management for resolution.

 

Research and Analysis

  • Testing and Troubleshooting: Monitor design, perform tests on software integrations, troubleshoot technical processes, and provide support for Payroll reports.
  • Test Script Library Maintenance: Maintain and enhance the test scripts library.
  • Compliance Evaluation: Utilize internal systems to evaluate compliance and provide necessary reports for auditing internal processes.
  • Root Cause Analysis: Analyze, debug, and conduct root cause analysis for errors or discrepancies in test scripts or development results.
  • Impact Analysis: Prepare analysis of testing to understand impact and ensure system configuration changes produce expected results.
  • Test Process Support: Collaborate with project teams to support test processes, testability, and general test infrastructure, tools, and methodologies.

·        Audit Support: Lead internal and external audits by producing and assembling required documentation.

 

Project Support

  • Assisting Role: Assist in the analysis, design, and implementation of payroll systems and processes.
  • Testing and Analysis: Conduct thorough testing and analysis to ensure system functionality and compliance.
  • Documentation: Prepare high-quality documents for Payroll & Time configurations and support internal and external audits by assembling required documentation.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work with cross-functional teams to implement remediation plans and recommendations to ensure ongoing compliance, including changes to practices, policies, technology, and training.
  • Troubleshooting: Provide troubleshooting support to Payroll Processing and Tax Teams with payroll system issues, project integration, etc. to ensure timely and accurate payrolls.
  • Support and Training: Document system configurations and project outcomes to ensure consistency and continuity. Assist the Payroll team with training as needed for process/system changes.
  • Advisory Role: Advise, assist, and lead on various testing techniques and tools, issues related to test scripting, execution, results reporting, and monitoring, and make recommendations for improvement.

 

Desired Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in HR, Accounting, or a technical discipline.
  • 1 to 3 years of experience in application software environments preferred.
  • CPP certification recommended.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in payroll software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Analytical Skills: Strong attention to detail and ability to analyze system data for accuracy.
  • Communication Skills: Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Problem-Solving: Basic problem-solving skills to address system issues.
  • Teamwork: Ability to work collaboratively with HR, Legal, IT, and other departments.
  • Familiarity with time and quota calculations (PTO accruals), HR policy, and payroll processes.
  • Strong documentation skills for policies, procedures, and ERP systems.
  • Collaborative coordination and time management skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure while maintaining high-quality standards.
